Predicting the Huawei Pocket 3

It’s been a few months since the excellent Pocket 2 launch. Reliable leaks point to an early 2025 debut for the Pocket 3. Here’s what it could offer based on Huawei’s history of incremental upgrades:

Hardware and Performance

The Pocket 3 will likely use Huawei’s next-gen Kirin flagship chip for even smoother performance. Expect at least 12GB RAM as standard. Storage options may max out at 2TB.

Display

The folding OLED will stay around 6.9 inches and gain a higher 144/165Hz refresh rate. Brightness could surpass 2500 nits. The cover screen may grow slightly to 1.2 inches.

Cameras

The quad rear setup will improve to comprise a new 50MP main, 12MP ultra-wide, and dual telephotos up to 5x. Selfies will jump to 12MP for more detail.

Design and Durability

Refinements will make the phone thinner at 7mm and lighter at around 195g. It may gain an official IP rating beyond IPX8 water resistance.

Battery and Charging

Capacity could grow to 5000mAh for extended endurance. Wireless charging may receive a boost to 50W while wired stays at a rapid 66W.

Pricing and Availability

The Pocket 3 may debut from $1450 for flagship configurations.

Only time will tell if Huawei can hit these targets but there is no doubt the Pocket series is setting a new standard for foldable. The Pocket 3 promises even greater versatility and performance.
