Huawei introduces its latest affordable smartphone, the Nova Y91, to cater to those on a budget. Does it provide a smooth experience for basic needs given its low price tag?

To start, the 6.95-inch LCD screen is ample in size for viewing and the 1080p resolution is respectable at this cost. While not the fastest, the Snapdragon 680 chipset handles daily tasks without much lag.

The dual 50MP rear cameras capture good-quality shots in ample lighting. Selfies come out nice thanks to the 8MP front camera. Battery life is excellent with the massive 7000mAh cell lasting around 2 days between charges.

At around $200, compromises had to be made. The LCD isn’t very crisp and performance isn’t zippy. The lack of 5G and NFC won’t bother most users of this device either.

For the price, however, the Nova Y91 gets the basics right. It has a sleek design, a vibrant display for media, decent cameras, and multi-day battery life. Perfect for social media, calls, messages, and light use on a strict budget
